dear baby. post 15.

dear baby,

over three weeks since i last threw up and i could not feel better. the second trimester is definitely treating me better than the first. i can’t believe there are only 5ish more weeks until we are into the 3rd trimester and closer to counting down the days til you are born! it is so exciting to think about but of course we have a lot to do before then.

we got to the doctor again in just over a week and although we won’t see you on an ultrasound, i am excited to hear your heartbeat and see how much you have grown. i know you have grown a lot over the past week because your kicks are getting stronger and are moving higher up on my belly. i can feel some of the above my belly button which is a very weird feeling because i’ve only been able to feel them below my belly button until now. it’s an exciting thing.

i have started to have some braxton hicks contractions which aren’t painful at all but are quite annoying. with the first few i had, i didn’t know what it was and thought that i could feel your tiny head poking against my belly. turns out it was just my uterus hardening and getting ready for the exciting day when you will be born. just some practice i guess.

it is crazy to think that the second trimester is over halfway over. we will be meeting each other before too long. a lot is going to happen before then but it is exciting to think about how much our lives will change when you come. i can’t wait!

your daddy had a dream that you are a girl, and i have had two dreams that you are a boy. so basically, we have no idea. sometimes i ask you to kick me if you are a girl and of course, nothing. so i’ll ask you to kick if you are boy, and again, nothing. i guess you want to surprise us! and i’m fine with that. we love surprises!

your daddy will be leaving on tour in a couple of weeks. i am sad for him to go, especially since he will be gone over our anniversary and my birthday but i’m glad that i’ll have a little companion kicking me all day long.

i love you baby. your daddy loves you too. he tells you everyday.
