dear baby. post 13.

dear baby,

yesterday we went to the doctor and got our 20 week ultrasound! it was amazing! you are growing exactly how you should be and all your limbs, organs, and brain look perfect! i could not have been happier! i was a little nervous since i still don’t have a baby belly, but i guess i just got lucky and will take a little while longer than normal to start showing.

it was so fun to see your little limbs and face on the monitor. you sure are an active little bug. your legs and arms were moving around the whole time and there were a few times when you started kicking like crazy and we could see your legs kicking a lot. it made me laugh and love you even more. i’m sure it’s a sign that you are going to be a very active baby, which i am excited about.

i was so happy to hear that you are healthy and growing perfectly. now that we are halfway through, you are going to start growing a lot and my belly is going to get bigger and bigger. i’m excited for that because i am proud to be your mom and i want to show off my belly while i have it!

the pictures we got of you are adorable. besides the profile picture (you look just like your dad!), my favorite is the picture of your feet. tiniest and most adorable feet i’ve ever seen. i cannot wait to see those little feet and kiss them all over.

we did not find out if you are a boy or a girl because we want to be surprised when you are born. when the tech was checking everything out she told us to look away so we didn’t find out. i was thinking for a while that you are going to be a girl, but lately i have been thinking boy. but of course, i am excited either way and it will be so fun to find out when you are born. you are perfect and that is all i care about.

unfortunately, we probably won’t be able to see you again until you are born. that makes me a little sad but also excited because that means that we are getting closer to you being here! yay! only a few weeks til my next appt. and one more after that, and then appts every two weeks, and then every week, and then you are here! of course, we have a long way to go until then, but it’s gonna come fast.

we love you so much, little one. and we cannot wait to see you.
